COURSES FOR THE TRADESPERSON
Overview of course content
These courses aim to give you a good understanding of what you have to do to meet all regulatory requirements for your trade in respect of passive fire prevention. After satisfactory completion of a course and a short questionnaire, participants can become members of the UK’s Nationwide Association of Passive Fire Installers and Specifiers (NAPFIS). This will give you the stationery on which to certificate your own work, allowing you to give certificates to the site agent, building control officers, etc. One part of the multi-part certificate has to be returned to NAPFIS for retention.
Members of NAPFIS will be assessed annually by third-party independent assessors. Details of members will be made available on the NAPFIS internet site www.napfis.co.uk to enable referrals by architects, building control officers, environmental health officers, fire officers, etc. As a member of NAPFIS, you can be recommended for work involving passive fire prevention, such as surveys, installations, and certifications, as well as the work of your main trade or profession.
